Mrs. Cortney Christopher, Physical Education
Mrs. Cortney Christopher attended Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and received her BA in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Science. She went on to receive her MS in Forensic Science with a concentration in Advanced Investigation and a certificate in Forensic Computer Investigations from the University of New Haven. She then served the Sacramento County Probation Department as a Probation Assistant at the Sacramento County Boys Ranch.
After devoting several years to serving in the juvenile justice system, Mrs. Christopher combined her passions for teaching, coaching, and health and well-being by receiving a degree in Personal Training & Nutrition from the National Personal Training Institute, with a concentration in Youth Fitness Training. She believes physical education offers children a unique opportunity to explore the beautiful mind-body connection in a nurturing environment through a variety of sports and games, and she's thrilled to bring her talents to bear in service of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel community both as a teacher and cross country/track & field coach. She strives to impart to students a positive attitude, an open mind, a humble heart, and a willingness to learn; her greatest dream is that they will use their God-given gifts to thrive in all areas of physical education.
In her spare time, Mrs. Christopher enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She'll often be found playing softball, running, decorating chocolate treat trays for birthdays and holidays, and taking trips to the shore.
